HP has partnered with California-based and globally known sports brand Oakley, which uses 3D printers to produce prototypes and functional parts for various products, particularly eyewear.
Oakley began integrating additive manufacturing technologies in the early 1990s and has been using HP's Multi Jet Fusion technology since 2018. Specifically, this is the HP Jet Fusion 580 3D printer. The introduction of an innovative additive manufacturing system has resulted in shorter development stages for the final product. The product development process has been greatly accelerated as designers can now produce and test color-matched parts in a single day! Normally, this process would take 2-3 weeks.
Oakley is a company that places a high value on the highest design standards, and it is the innovative 3D printing that is helping them to achieve them significantly. In fact, the HP Jet Fusion 580 can print even full-color functional parts while maintaining optimal mechanical properties.
CB PA 12 polymer is used for prototyping.
